The second conference "Together towards a Safe Childhood"
The Takaful Childhood Association held the activities of its second conference on 26 - 27 - 28 April 2010, under the title "Together towards a Safe Childhood" at the Bristol Hotel - Beirut.
The conference discussed six working papers that dealt with the implications of the blockade of the health conditions of the children of Gaza, children and drugs, "problems and solutions", the psychosocial problems of children of prisoners in Israeli jails, the consolidation of the Arab identity of children, and the international responsibility to protect children. A large number of elites and personalities representing the private sector and local and international civil society institutions from various countries of the Arab and Islamic world participated in the conference.
The conference resulted in the establishment of a “Network for the Protection and Development of the Palestinian Child Under Occupation” that aims to find a common vision among the institutions that are part of its framework to secure a safe environment and develop the service of the Palestinian child under occupation, and strive to strengthen its tools and enhance its methods and methods of work in monitoring and documenting and exposing the practices of the occupier and raising Claims on violating children's rights, and achieving the highest levels of coordination, cooperation and partnership in thinking, planning, financing, implementation, evaluation and development, taking responsibility, decision making, crisis management, success and expansion, and supporting development, relief and resilience programs for children under occupation.
At the end of its conference, the association held a press conference in which the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Hajj Essam Bisher Barghout read out the recommendations that the participants made at the conference, in which they expressed their deep concern about the violations of children in general and children under occupation in particular in the occupied Palestinian territories and in Iraq.
It targeted their right to life, and called on the international community to provide protections to implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the consequent punishment for the occupying power.
The conference also called on the League of Arab States and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to take serious steps that contribute to perpetuating children's affiliation with the Arab and Islamic identity, strengthening curricula and contributing to an active role in international forums for the protection of children under occupation in Palestine and Iraq.
The conference stopped at the phenomenon of prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, calling on human rights organizations to file lawsuits against the leaders of the occupation leading to their arrest and their market to international justice.
The conference drew attention to the great challenge represented in the phenomenon of the growing problem of drug use among children in our Arab and Islamic world, calling on the organizations and countries concerned to develop their educational, educational, environmental and health curricula and health and psychological programs and relief programs to contribute to reducing the phenomenon, in order to eliminate it completely.
At the end of the conference, the conferees sent a message of gratitude and gratitude to Lebanon as president, government and people, and in particular to Prime Minister Saad Hariri for hosting the second symbiosis conference. The conference also sent a message of gratitude and gratitude to the institutions and personalities who support the conference activities.
